Alfred Nort Vajthed (engl. Alfred North Whitehead; Ramsgejt, 15. februar 1861^[6] — Kembridž, 30. decembar 1947), matematičar i filozof^[7], jedan od najznačajnih angloameričkih filozofa 20. veka.^[8] Najpre je bio zainteresovan za matematičku logiku i tada je u saradnji sa B. Raselom napisao delo Principa mathematica^[7].^[9] Potom je samostalno razvio originalnu metafiziku, kosmološko gledište o večnim objektima i događanjima, kao i organizmičnu filozofiju prirode.^[10] Smatrao je da filozofija ima sudbonosni socijalno-istorijski značaj. Glavna njegova dela su: Rasprava o univerzalnoj algebri, Organizacija mišljenja, Istraživanje principa prirodnog znanja, Nauka i moderni svet, Proces i realnost, Smeli poduhvati ideja, Religija u bitnim svojstvima.^[7]
