Pert
Pert (engl. Perth) je administrativni centar i najnaseljeniji grad Zapadne Australije, jedne od australijskih država. Prema proceni iz 2012. u gradu je živelo 1.897.548 stanovnika. Sa svojih 1,6 miliona stanovnika u široj okolini Pert je četvrti grad po veličini u Australiji posle Sidneja, Melburna i Brizbejna. Sa trendom rasta od 2% godišnje, Pert je grad koji se najbrže razvija u Australiji. Grad se nalazi na obali Indijskog okeana i reke Svon. Bio je domaćin Igara Komonvelta, 1962. godine.

Kapetan Džejms Stirling osnovao je Pert 1829. godine kao administrativni centar kolonije Svon reka. Status grada (koji trenutno pripada manjem gradu Pert) stekao je 1856. godine.[3] Grad je svoje ime nasledio zbog uticaja ser Džordža Marija, tadašnjeg člana parlamenta u Pertširu i državnog sekretara za rat i kolonije. Stanovništvo grada znatno se povećalo kao rezultat zlatnih groznica u Zapadnoj Australiji krajem 19. veka. Tokom učešća Australije u Drugom svetskom ratu, Fremantl je služio kao baza za podmornice koje su delovale na Pacifičkom teatru, a flota letećih brodova Katalina Američke mornarice bila je stacionirana u zalivu Matilda.[4] Priliv imigranata nakon rata, uglavnom iz Britanije, Italije, Grčke i Jugoslavije, doveo je do brzog rasta stanovništva. Nakon toga usledio je nagli porast ekonomske aktivnosti koji je potekao iz nekoliko rudarskih bumova krajem 20. i početkom 21. veka, i Pert je postao regionalno sedište za nekoliko velikih rudarskih operacija.

U gradu je zastupljena mediteranska klima sa vrelim i prilično suvim letima, koje prekidaju samo kratkotrajne oluje. Zime su vlažne i blage. Leti temperatura redovno prelazi 35 stepeni, ponekad i 40. Zimi retko pada ispod 0 stepeni. Zimi su česte jake oluje sa grmljavinom i obilnim kišama. Prosečna temperatura najtoplijeg februara je 24,5 stepeni, a rekordna najviša 46. Prosečna temperatura u julu je 13,1 stepen. Sneg nikad nije zabeležen u gradu.

Istorija uredi
Pre otkrića uredi
Pre nego što su Evropljani naselili ovaj kraj, ovde su boravili plemena Whadjuk i Noongar pre 40.000 godina. Dokaz su arheološke iskopine blizu reke Svon. Pre 1829. ovaj kraj se zvao Borlo, ime koje su mu dali Aboridžini. 10. januara 1697. godine se Pert prvi put pojavljuje u evropskoj dokumentaciji u spisima holandskog kapetana Viljema de Vleminga.
Otkriće i kasniji period uredi
Pert je 1829. osnovao kapetan Džejms Stirling. Ime je dobio po mestu Pert u Škotskoj koje je danas daleko manje i ima svega 43 hiljade stanovnika.
