Savremena folk muzika

Savremena folk muzika je žanr popularne muzike koji se razvio iz narodne muzike[1][2]. Počev od sredine 20. veka, novi oblik popularne narodne muzike evoluirao je iz tradicionalne narodne muzike. Ovaj proces i period se nazivaju (drugim) narodnim preporodom i dostigli su zenit tokom 1960-ih. Najčešći naziv za ovaj novi oblik muzike je takođe „folk muzika“, ali se često naziva i „savremena narodna muzika“ ili „narodna muzika oživljavanja“ da bi se napravila razlika.[3] Tranzicija je bila donekle usredsređena na SAD, a naziva se i američkim preporodom narodne muzike.[4] Fuzioni žanrovi kao što su folk rok i drugi takođe su evoluirali unutar ovog fenomena. Iako je savremena folk muzika žanr koji se generalno razlikuje od tradicionalne folk muzike, ona na engleskom govornom području često ima isti naziv, izvođače i mesta kao i tradicionalna folk muzika; čak i pojedinačne pesme mogu biti spoj dva žanra.
