Sinovi Izraela
Bene Izrael je jedna od tri grupe Jevreja u Indiji.[1][2] Poreklo „Sinova Izraela” nije potpuno razjašnjeno. Veruje se da su izbegli iz Galileje pre II veka p. n. e. i da su doživeli brodolom blizu obala Indije. Veruje se da je brodolom preživelo sedam parova, koji su ostali bez igde ičega. Izolovani od ostalih Jevreja, veći deo njih je asimilovan u indijski sistem kasta, ali su oni nastavili unutar tog sistema da upražnjavaju svoju veru, zakone ishrane, obrezivanje dečaka na osmi rođendan i poštovanje subote, kada nisu ništa radili. Današnji pripadnici „Sinova Izraela” govore marathi i engleski. Mnogi od njih emigrirali su u Izrael.[3][4]
