English: Red-blue divided by a silver slanting S wavy bar. In the red field below a golden open royal crown with blue jewels crossed a golden key and a silver sword with gold guard and hilt.

  • Slapy nad Vltavou jsou v České republice všeobecně dobře známou obcí. Proto bylo využito tzv. národních barev (tj. v heraldice stříbrné, červené a modré).
  • Esovitě zvlněné (čili dvakrát prohnuté) šikmé břevno připomíná jméno obce v podobě Monogramu "S". Zároveň též evokuje řeku Vltavu, nad níž Slapy leží. Stříbrný kov tzv. heroldské figury břevna a modrá barva pole štítu tuto skutečnost (čili význam vody, úzce spjaté s existencí obce) podtrhují.
  • Nad břevnem (tak jak jsou Slapy "nad" řekou Vltavou) se nachází tzv. obecné figury znaku, které symbolizují minulost i současnost obce.
  • Královská zlatá koruna (a červená barva pole štítu) odkazuje na samé počátky obce v držbě přemyslovského královského zbraslavského kláštera Aula Regia. Stylizace zlatých listů koruny a modrá barva drahých kamenů pak rovněž evokuje symboliku cisterciáckého řádu.
  • Zkřížený klíč a meč jsou tradiční a dobře známé atributy apoštolů svatého Petra a svatého Pavla, patronů zdejšího hodnotného santiniovského kostela, jenž je nepochybně významnou centrální památkou a dominantou obce. Užité tinktury (zlatá a stříbrná) odpovídají symbolice atributů klíče a meče (červená je též barvou mučednictví).

  • Slapy nad Vltavou ist ein bekanntes Dorf in der Tschechischen Republik. Deshalb wurden sogenannte Nationalfarben verwendet (z.B. Silber, Rot und Blau in der Heraldik).
  • Der S-förmige (doppelt gebogene) Schräglinksbalken erinnert an den Namen des Dorfes in Form des Monogramms "S". Gleichzeitig erinnert es auch an die Moldau, über der Slapy liegt. Das silberne Metall der sogenannten Wappenfigur des Balkens und die blaue Farbe des Schildfeldes unterstreichen diese Tatsache (also die Bedeutung des Wassers, die eng mit der Existenz des Dorfes verbunden ist).
  • Über dem Balken (so wie Slapy "über" der Moldau liegt) befinden sich sogenannte allgemeine Wappenfiguren, die die Vergangenheit und Gegenwart des Dorfes symbolisieren.
  • Die königliche goldene Krone (und die rote Farbe des Schildfeldes) weist auf die Anfänge des Dorfes im Besitz des königlichen Klosters Aula Regia von Přemyslovsk hin. Auch die Stilisierung des Blattgoldes der Krone und die blaue Farbe der Edelsteine ​​erinnern an die Symbolik des Zisterzienserordens.
  • Die gekreuzten Schlüssel und Schwert sind die traditionellen und bekannten Attribute der Apostel St. Peter und St. Paul, der Patrone der Kirche von Santinio, die zweifellos ein wichtiges zentrales Denkmal und eine Dominante des Dorfes ist. Die verwendeten Tinkturen (Gold und Silber) entsprechen der Symbolik der Attribute des Schlüssels und des Schwertes (Rot ist auch die Farbe des Martyriums).
English:  
  • Slapy nad Vltavou is a well-known village in the Czech Republic. That is why so-called national colors were used (i.e. silver, red and blue in heraldry).
  • The S-shaped (double-bent) sloping beam resembles the name of the village in the form of the "S" monogram. At the same time, it also evokes the Vltava river, above which Slapy lies. The silver metal of the so-called heraldic figure of the beam and the blue color of the shield field underline this fact (that is, the importance of water, which is closely linked to the existence of the village).
  • Above the beam (just as Slapy is "above" the Vltava river) there are so-called general figures of the coat of arms, which symbolize the past and the present of the village.
  • The royal golden crown (and the red color of the shield field) refers to the very beginnings of the village in the possession of the Aula Regia royal monastery of Přemyslovsk. The stylization of the gold leaves of the crown and the blue color of the precious stones also evoke the symbolism of the Cistercian order.
  • The crossed key and sword are the traditional and well-known attributes of the apostles St. Peter and St. Paul, the patrons of the local valuable church of Santinio, which is undoubtedly an important central monument and dominant feature of the village. The tinctures used (gold and silver) correspond to the symbolism of the attributes of the key and the sword (red is also the color of martyrdom).
