Hi! Thanks for posting these rules. Unfortunately Serbian rules differ. Official transcription of Slovak LI is LI in Serbian, not soft LJI. So we have to follow that. Also this seems to be an issue within Slovakia too as Wizzard on Slovak Wikipedia says it is not a soft l. Anyway the issue here is not the original pronunciation but what are the rules in Serbian language (even if they are weird). According to pronunciation file at wikimedia it is Žilina not Žiljina. Thanks for your effort! --Авала (разговор) 22:58, 4. јул 2008. (CEST)
: thank You for answer. Please, can You give link for this Serbian rule ? (I am just curious:). And it is used only in case LI, or also in DI, TI, NI, DE, TE, NE, LE cases ? There is no issue between me and Wizzy, he had no problem to accept my explanation through Skype (even before I found exact link). Pronunciation in wikimedia is simply wrong, altough widely used (in Bratislava even among teachers, TV broadcasters, etc... :). I have to confirm Vlastislav words - Vojvodina Slovaks have best pronunciation of Slovak language in the world, You can believe him every time. If it is, however, some Serbian rule, which prefers incorrect transcription, I cant have any objections. --Kelovy (разговор) 00:54, 5. јул 2008. ::I don't have a link but I have information on a book - "страна 237. Правописа српског језика (издање из 2002), тачке 158. и 159." talk about transcription from Slovak and here are these rules (someone posted them in talk so I opened a special page with it) - Википедија:Транскрипција са словачког језика. It is quite possible that those who wrote these rules consulted someone from Bratislava and that this is how we have got an error in rules but this book is the only objective measure for Slovak transcription. So DI, TI, NI, DE, TE, NE, LE would be DI, TI, NJI, LI (unless it had IA) and DE, TE, NE, LE would be DJE, TJE (TI is usually TI and ŠTE is ŠTE not ŠTJE), NJE, LJE (with exceptions of sufixes and foreign words). --Авала (разговор) 13:56, 5. јул 2008.
