English: Hodie mihi, cras tibi The inscription above the door of the chapel at Dawyck - translates to "It is my lot today, yours to-morrow" - or, as http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1444688 puts it, "today me, tomorrow you" or "here today, gone tomorrow".
The symbol above the inscription is known as "Chi Rho" - the first two letters of the Greek spelling of "Christ" with the letters "alpha" and "omega" on either side - the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, referring to Christ as "the first and the last" - see Chi_Rho (my thanks to another Geograph member for drawing my attention to this).
