The treaty recognized the Huron-Wendat as a distinct nation and guaranteed that the British would not interfere with the Huron-Wendat's internal affairs. In 1990, the [[Supreme Court of Canada]] ruled in ''[[Konrad Sioui#R. v. Sioui|R v Sioui]]'' found that the Huron-British Treaty of 1760 was still valid and binding on [[the Crown]].
