Džazar Ahmed-paša
Ahmed-paša el Džazar (1720/30-tih - 7. maj 1804) je bio osmanski namesnik (valija) Sidona sa sedištem u Akri (1775-1804). Služio je i kao valija Damaska u četiri navrata, ukupno devet godina.

Biografija uredi
Džazar je bio bosanskog porekla. Vojnu karijeru započeo je u Egiptu, u službi Mameluka. Bio je izvršilac smrtnih kazni Ali Beja el Kabira, stvarnog gospodara Egipta. Dobio je epitet "Džazar" što je značilo mesar. Nadimak je stekao kada je u zasedi pobio grupu beduina u znak odmazde zbog smrti svog gospodara. Sukobio se sa Ali Bejem 1768. godine, kada je odbio da izvrši atentat na jednog od svojih nekadašnjih gospodara. Pobegao je u Siriju, gde je branio Bejrut od udruženog napada ruske mornarice i snaga Zahira el Umira. Predao se i stupio u Zahirovu službu. Izdao ga je i pobegao sa novcem, nakon čega je od zvaničnih vlasti postavljen za komandanta garnizona u Akri. Godine 1776/7. postavljen je za valiju Sidona sa sedištem u Akri koju je snažno utvrdio. Godine 1795. po prvi put je imenovan za namesnika Damaska. Povećavao je svoj ugled u Damasku na štetu porodici Azm. Godine 1799. učestvuje u borbama protiv Francuza. Uz pomoć britanske mornarice, Džazar je branio Akru od snaga Napoleona Bonaparte, prisiljavajući Francuze da se povuku iz Palestine. Odbrana Akre učinila ga je poznatim u Evropi. Umro je 1804. godine, u trenutku kada je bio valija Damaska i Sidona.
