Porijeklo izreke
urediIzrekao Fransis Bejkon (poznat i kao Frensis Bekon), engl. Francis Bacon, engleski filozof, državnik i esejista u smjeni šesnaestog u sedamnaesti vijek.[1]
Isto drugačije
urediIsto se na latinskom jeziku kaže i lat. Scientias potestas est i ima isto značenje.[1]
Tumačenje
urediZnanje je vrhovna sila, moć do koje čovjek može da dosegne. Ne postoji više i veće.[1]
U savremenom žargonu
urediOva sentencija se često koristi i u savremenom govoru. U januaru 2002. godine Agencija za unapređenje naprednih istraživačkih projekata Sjedinjenih Američkih Država (DARPA) osnovala je Kancelariju za informisanje javnosti čiji je moto lat. Scientias est potentia.
