Podela Irske (ir. críochdheighilt na hÉireann) na severni i južni deo je izvršena odlukom parlamenta Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva.[1] Akt o podeli je izglasan 1920. godine, u vreme Irskog rata za nezavisnost, a stupio je na snagu 3. maja 1921. Navodni cilj podele je bio bolje administrativno upravljanje teritorijom Irske, međutim pravi razlog je bio taj što su britanske vlasti planirale da severni deo Irske, nastanjen pretežno protestantskim stanovništvom zadrže u sastavu Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva u slučaju odvajanja južnog, pretežno katoličkog dela.[2][3] Severna Irska je potpisanim Anglo-irskim sporazumom dobila pravo da se odvoji od ostatka Irske i ostane unutar Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva, što je ona i učinila 8. decembra 1922. Severna Irska je i dan danas deo Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva dok je u južnom delu formirana Slobodna Irska Država, odnosno današnja Republika Irska.

Podelu Irske osporavali su irski nacionalisti, dok je sama Severna Irska u narednim decenijama postala poprište nacionalističkih i verskih sukoba, od kojih je najistaknutiji Severnoirski sukob.[4] Nacionalisti se zalažu za oslobođenje Severne Irske od britanske vlasti i njeno prisajedinjenje slobodnoj Republici Irskoj.[5]
