Ovaj dvostruki keton (hinon) je reaktivni metabolit naftalina, koji je prisutan je u česticama dizelnih izduvnih gasova. Akumulacija ovog toksičnog metabolita izaziva oštećenje očiju kod pacova, uključujući formiranje katarakti.[4]
