Žrtvovanje ljudi
Žrtvovanje ljudi je čin ubijanja jednog ili više ljudi kao deo rituala, koji obično ima za cilj da ugodi ili umiri bogove, ljudskog vladara, javne ili jurisdikcione zahteve za pravdom smrtnom kaznom, autoritativne/svešteničke figure ili duhove mrtvih predaka ili kao pomoćnu žrtvu, pri čemu se monarhove sluge ubijaju da bi nastavili da služe svom gospodaru u sledećem životu. Usko povezane prakse koje se nalaze u nekim plemenskim društvima su kanibalizam i lov na glave.[1]

Savremeni sekularni zakoni tretiraju žrtvovanje ljudi kao jednakim ubistvu.[2][3] Većina velikih religija u današnje vreme osuđuje ovu praksu. Na primer, hebrejska Biblija zabranjuje ubistvo i prinošenje ljudskih žrtava Molohu.[4]
