Klod Debisi
Ašil-Klod Debisi[n 1] (franc. Achille-Claude Debussy; Sen Žermen an Le, 22. avgust 1862 — Pariz, 25. mart 1918) je bio francuski kompozitor. Zajedno sa Morisom Ravelom, smatra se jednom od najistaknutijih ličnosti u oblasti impresionističke muzike, mada on sam nije voleo da se ovaj termin upotrebljava za njegove kompozicije. Debisi je bio ne samo jedan od najvažnijih francuskih kompozitora već je bio i središnja figura cele evropske muzike na prelazu iz devetnaestog u dvadeseti vek.

Debisijeva muzika praktično definiše prelazak iz kasno-romantičarske muzike ka modernističkoj muzici 20. veka. U francuskim književnim krugovima, stil ovog perioda bio je poznat kao simbolizam, pokret koji je neposredno inspirisao Debisija kako kao kompozitora, tako i kao aktivnog učesnika u kulturnom životu.
Izvođenje Debisijeve opere Peleas i Melisandra donelo mu je svetsku slavu. Na početku Prvog svetskog rata bio je jedan od najslavnijih kompozitora, ali nije dugo uživao u toj slavi. Umro je u Parizu posle nekoliko godina. Ostavio je za sobom više kompozicija sa različitih područja: kompozicije za decu Dečji kutak i balet Kutijica igračaka, deset programskih orkestarskih kompozicija među kojima se ističu Popodne jednog Fauna i More.

- ^ Debisiju su se tokom života obraćale koristeći razne permutacije njegovih imena. Njegovo ime je zvanično registrovano u opštini na dan njegovog rođenja kao „Achille Claude”.[1] Mnoge vlasti povezuju reči „Achille-Claude“.[2][3][4][5][6] Kao malog dečaka oslovljavan je sa „Klod“; njegova krštenica (on je kršten je tek u julu 1864. godine) nosi ime „Claude-Achille";[7] kao mladić bio je poznat kao „Achille"; na početku karijere nastojao je da njegovo ime učini impresivnijim nazivajući sebe „Claude-Achille“ (i ponekad navodeći svoje prezime kao „de Bussy“).[8][9][10] On se potpisao se kao „Claude-Achille” između decembra 1889. i 4. juna 1892. godine, nakon čega je trajno usvojio kraću verziju „Claude”.
