Himna
Himna (grč. ὕμνος - pesma, hvalospev) je pesma u slavu Boga, ideologije ili države. Himna izražava odanost, lojalnost, pobožnost, kao i predanost, privrženost i poštovanje.[1]
Himna je najstarija pesnička vrsta koju susrećemo delimično već kod Egipćana, Vavilonaca i Asiraca. Kod Grka svaka pesma do 6. veka p. n. e. naziva himnom, a kasnije su to samo pesme koje su posvećene bogovima i herojima. U Rimsko carstvo himnama je uveličavan kult careva.
U srednjem veku himne su bile crkvene pesme, a u renesansi se himnama opisuju lepote prirode. Kasnije, sa stvaranjem prvih nacija nastaju nacionalne i rodoljubive himne, a pojavom društvenih klasa i borbene. Od tih je najpoznatija francuska Marseljeza[2][3][4] (franc. La Marseillaise) i Internacionala (franc. L'Internationale) kao koračnica radničke klase.
U 19. veku se uvode posvuda nacionalne himne,[5][6] kao himne vladaru u monarhijama.
Hrišćanska himnodija uredi
Prvobitno po uzoru na Knjigu psalama i druge poetske odlomke (koji se obično nazivaju „kantikli“) u Svetom pismu, hrišćanske himne su uglavnom usmerene kao hvaljenje hrišćanskom Bogu. Mnoge se direktno ili indirektno pozivaju na Isusa Hrista.
Od najranijih vremena, hrišćani su pevali „psalme i himne i duhovne pesme“, kako u privatnim pobožnim obredima, tako i u zajedničkom bogosluženju.[7] Nebiblijske himne (tj. one koje nisu psalme ili kantikli) iz rane crkve i danas se pevaju uključujući 'Phos Hilaron', 'Sub tuum praesidium', i 'Te Deum'.
Jedna od definicija himne je „...lirska pesma, s poštovanjem i pobožnošću, koja je osmišljena da se peva i koja izražava stav obožavaoca prema Bogu ili Božijim namerama u ljudskom životu. Treba da bude jednostavna i metrička po formi, iskreno emocionalnog, poetskog i književnog stila, duhovnog kvaliteta, a po svojim idejama tako direktnim i tako odmah očiglednim da ujedinjuje skupštinu dok je peva."[8]
U mnogim evangelističkim crkvama, tradicionalne pesme se klasifikuju kao himne, dok se savremenije pesme bogosluženja ne smatraju himnama. Razlog za ovu razliku je nejasan, ali prema nekima je to zbog radikalne promene stila i pobožnog razmišljanja koje je počelo sa Isusovim pokretom i Isusovom muzikom. Poslednjih godina, hrišćanske tradicionalne himne su doživele oživljavanje u nekim crkvama, obično više reformisane ili kalvinističke prirode, pošto su moderni pisci himni kao što su Kit i Kristin Geti[9] i muzika suverene milosti resetovali stare tekstove na nove melodije, revidirali stare himne i ponovo ih objavili, ili jednostavno su napisali pesmu na himničan način kao što je In Christ Alone.[10]
Muzika i pratnja uredi
U antičkom i srednjem veku, gudački instrumenti kao što su harfa, lira i lauta korišćeni su uz psalme i himne.
Pošto postoji nedostatak muzičkih zapisa u ranim spisima,[11] stvarni muzički oblici u ranoj crkvi mogu se samo pretpostaviti. Tokom srednjeg veka razvila se bogata himnodija u obliku gregorijanskog pojanja ili obične pesme. Ovaj tip su pevali uglas, na jedan od osam crkvenih načina, najčešće monaški horovi. Iako su prvobitno napisane na latinskom, mnoge su prevedene; poznati primer je Od Očevog Srca rođenog iz 4. veka pevanog u horskoj pesmi Divinum Misterijum iz 11. veka.
Istočna crkva uredi
Istočno hrišćanstvo (istočna pravoslavna, orijentalna pravoslavna i istočnokatolička crkva) ima niz drevnih himnografskih tradicija. U vizantijskom obredu, pojanje se koristi za sve oblike liturgijskog bogosluženja: ako se ne peva akapela, jedina pratnja je obično ison, ili bordun. Orgulje i drugi instrumenti bili su isključeni iz crkvene upotrebe, iako su korišćeni u carskim ceremonijama.[12] Međutim, instrumenti su uobičajeni u nekim drugim orijentalnim tradicijama. Koptska tradicija koristi samo činele i trougao. Indijski pravoslavci (malankarska ortodoksna sirijska crkva) koriste orgulje. Tevahedo crkve koriste bubnjeve, činele i druge instrumente u određenim prilikama.
Razvoj hrišćanske himnodije uredi
Toma Akvinski je, u uvodu svog komentara na psalme, ovako definisao hrišćansku himnu: „Hymnus est laus Dei cum cantico; canticum autem exultatio mentis de aeternis habita, prorumpens in vocem“. („Himna je slavljenje Boga pesmom; pesma je ushićenje uma koji živi o večnim stvarima, izbija u glas.“)[13]
