Lira
Lira je žičani muzički instrument i jedan je od najpopularnijih instrumenata u Staroj Grčkoj. Njena rezonantska kutija je bila od kornjačine kore. Učenje lire je u Atini bilo obavezno za sve omladince. Pored lire, poznati grčki instrumenti su kitara i aulos.
Antički trzalački instrument lira je bio poznat Sumeranima, Egipćanima i drugim narodima Prednjeg istoka. U Grka dobija svoj tipičan oblik, sličan gitari, sa 5-7 žica koje su se trzale prstima ili trzalicom.[1] Raširena je od 6. veka pre nove ere, naročito kao instrument grčkih pesnika i pevača lirika.
