Јерменски језик (јерм. Հայերեն լեզու) је језик Јермена. Припада индоевропској породици језика; садржи много елемената позајмљених од суседних језика, нарочито персијског, грчког и сиријског. Од осталих индоевропских језика разликује се не само посебношћу својих облика, него и гласовним системом, који је преузет од суседник кавкаских језика. Старојерменски и даље живи само као језик цркве. Јерменским језиком говори око шест милиона људи. Заједно са индоиранским, балтословенским, албанским и трачким језицима припада сатемској групи индоевропских језика.[30][31]

  1. ^ Иако је руски радни језик Уније према Уговору о Евроазијској економској унији, јерменски и језици других држава чланица су званично признати.[2] Веб странице Евроазијског економског савеза[3] и Евроазијске економске комисије[4] доступне су, између осталих језика, на јерменском.
  2. ^ Јерменски нема правни статус у Самцке-Јавахетију, али га широко говори његово јерменско становништво, које је концентрисано у окрузима Ниноцминда и Ахалкалаки (преко 90% укупног становништва у ова два округа).[13] У региону су од 2010. године постојале 144 школе које финансира држава, где је јерменски главни наставни језик.[14][15]
