Tajmir
Tajmir (Tajmirsko poluostrvo; rus. Таймыр, Таймырский полуостров) je poluostrvo u Rusiji na severu centralnog Sibira, i ujedno najseverniji deo kontinentalne Azije. Na zapadu je ograničeno Jenisejskim zalivom (Karsko more), dok je na istoku Zaliv Katanga (Laptevsko more). Administrativno pripada Krasnojarskom kraju.

Poluostrvo Tajmir leži između Jenisejskog zaliva Karskog mora i Hatanškog zaliva Laptevskog mora.
Jezero Tajmir i Biranške planine nalaze se unutar ogromnog Tajmirskog poluostrva.
Rt Čeljuskin, najsevernija tačka Afroevroazijskog kontinenta, nalazi se na severnom kraju poluostrva Tajmir.
Flora i fauna uredi
Na severu Sibira biljni i životinjski svet ima samo dva meseca pogodna za reprodukciju. Svakog leta ponoćno sunce pomaže rast velikog broja vrsta. Irvasi migriraju u ovaj kraj i mešaju se sa polarnim medvedima i fokama. Migratorne ptice iz Evrope, Afrike i Azije na Tajmiru formiraju najveće stanište divljih ptica na svetu.
Populacija uredi
Neneti, takođe poznati kao Samojedi, su autohtoni narod u severnoj arktičkoj Rusiji, a neki žive na poluostrvu Tajmir.
Narod Nganasan je autohtoni samojedski narod koji naseljava centralni Sibir, uključujući poluostrvo Tajmir.[3][4] U Ruskoj Federaciji su priznati kao jedan od autohtonih naroda ruskog severa. Oni žive prvenstveno u naseljima Ust-Avam, Volačanka i Novaja u Tajmirskom Dolgano-Neneckom okrugu Krasnojarskog kraja, sa manjim brojem stanovnika u gradovima Dudinka i Norilsk.[5] Izolovana lokacija naroda Nganasan omogućila im je da održavaju šamanističke prakse čak iu 20. veku.[6]
Privreda uredi
Ruska rudarska kompanija Noriljski nikelj se u ovom području bavi eksploatacijom rude nikla i njenom preradom u gradu Noriljsk. Nikl se dalje transportuje do luke Dudinka na reci Jenisej, a odatle brodovima do Murmanska i drugih luka.

Mošusno goveče, arktički sisar iz porodice Bovidae, uspešno je ponovo uveden u region poluostrva Tajmir 1975.
Poluostrvo je mesto poslednjeg poznatog prirodnog mošusnog govečeta izvan Severne Amerike, koje je izumrolo pre oko 2.000 godina.[7] Uspešno su ponovo uvedeni 1975. godine.[8] Populacija je porasla na 2.500 životinja u 2002. godini i na 6.500 u 2010. godini.[9]
Jedna studija iz 2021. otkrila je na bazi eDNK da su vunasti mamuti preživeli na poluostrvu Tajmir do pre 3.900 do 4.100 godina, otprilike istovremeno sa Vrangelovom populacijom. Poluostrvo Tajmir, sa svojim sušnijim staništem, možda je služilo kao utočište za mamutske stepe, podržavajući mamute i druge široko rasprostranjene sisare iz ledenog doba, kao što su divlji konji (Equus sp.).[10]
Klima uredi
Obale poluostrva Tajmir su zamrznute tokom većig dela godine, u proseku između septembra i juna. Letnja sezona je kratka, posebno na obali Laptevskog mora na severoistoku. Klima u unutrašnjosti poluostrva je kontinentalna – klima tundre (ET). Zime su oštre, sa čestim mećavama i ekstremno niskim temperaturama.
